MECC training at Adventure Island šŸŽ¢

Lee (Service Manager) and Martin (Free NHS Health Check Lead) recently visitedĀ Adventure IslandĀ to deliverĀ Making Every Contact Count (MECC)Ā training to over 50 current and aspiring leaders.

The session was a fantastic opportunity to equip team members with practical tools to support health and wellbeing conversations in everyday interactions. MECC is all about using simple, opportunistic moments to encourage positive lifestyle changes—something that’s just as vital in the workplace as it is in healthcare settings.

By embedding MECC into workplace culture, leaders can:

  • Promote healthier choices across teams
  • Support early intervention and wellbeing
  • Foster a more supportive, proactive environment

Lee and Martin’s training highlighted how small conversations can lead to big changes—and how leadership plays a key role in that journey. Great work supporting a healthier, more connected workforce!

Last week I took my dog for a walk outdoors for the first time in nearly 2 years, previously I did not have the confidence or the ability to go for a walk with my dog, due to poor balance and fear of falling.
