Feed a crowd with these healthy BBQ dishes

Although the Great British Summertime rain certainly hasn’t let up this month, it’s set to be a scorcher over the weekend which calls for one all-important thing.. barbecues!

Believe it or not, you can still enjoy all of your barbecue favourites (yes, even burgers) and make sure they’re packed with healthy ingredients to support your health goals.

We’ve gathered some of our favourite barbecue dishes that are lower in fat and calories, but certainly don’t skimp on flavour for your summertime nourishment.

Burgers

Let’s face it, no barbecue is complete without a good burger.

Our succulent turkey burgers are bound to be a hit with everyone, or if you’re wanting a kick of spice – try out these tandoori cod burgers to tickle your tastebuds. In need of a veggie option? Whip up these tasty bean burgers, served on a wholemeal bun to fill hungry bellies.

Salads

Summers were made for salads. This light, heart healthy salad makes for the perfect accompaniment to any barbecue. If you’re looking for a more filling salad option, bring this protein-packed tuna and bean salad to the table that captures the tastes of summer in one bite.

Sides

Whilst you’re waiting for the main event, you’ll be needing some snacks/sides to nibble on. Make your own tortilla crisps (they’re easy, we promise!) to dip into some homemade tangy tomato salsa to keep your stomachs from grumbling – you’ll never go back to shop-bought crisps and dip again.

For a lighter snack, chop up some carrots and serve alongside a homemade Tzatziki dip – with the sun out making an appearance, it’ll feel just like you’re in the sunny haven of Greece!

Dessert (if there’s room!)

Finish the barbecue on a sweet note with this bowl of goodness that is bursting berries and Greek yogurt – so simple, yet so satisfying! Try crushing up a meringue, and topping with some low-fat squirty cream for an eton mess (esque) twist to it.

Bring on the barbecue!

Very engaging, interactive. The session went very quickly which is a good sign that we enjoyed the workshop :)
